Why Brazilian Slate?
As reported in a thesis from the Department of Mining Engineering, University of Missouri, 1992:
The University's final conclusion was the "Brazilian Stone is the strongest and will deform the least when used in pool table construction."
The Brazilian stone has significantly higher tensile and flex strength over the Italian and Chinese stone.
The slate is hand split with the cleft to produce a natural table top to be machine finished within 1/1000ths of an inch tolerance.
